Massey University Asthma Study

Massey University is currently conducting a health research study looking at the role of bacteria (that are naturally present in the airways) in the development of childhood asthma.

The study seeks to recruit 600 children with asthma, aged 8-18 years old.  If your child has asthma, the researchers would greatly appreciate your involvement. They are also interested in recruiting controls (children without asthma).

If you are interested in taking part in the study or would like more information, please contact Heather Duckett (R/N, Research Nurse) on 0800 000 544 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

On The Fence

Massey University’s Design+Democracy Project have designed On The Fence to encourage young New Zealanders to vote in next month’s general election and increase voter turnout. The project is a game-like questionnaire that guides people towards finding a values match for them among the political parties.

"On the Fence's point of difference is that it is the only interactive platform that specifically addresses the needs of young, undecided and first-time voters by helping them navigate the complexities of central government."

Political parties asked for direct input and all signed off on the questions within the tool and provided their own responses. The questions have also been peer reviewed by political specialists. Click here to visit On The Fence.
