Inline Speedskating World Championships

Welcome back to Sam Portch who has returned home after 5 weeks of training and competitions in Europe for Inline Speedskating. This was Sam’s first time competing in the Inline Speedskating World Championships. Sam achieved his goal of qualifying for the finals for the 10km Points Race, placing 30th out of 52 overall. He narrowly missed the final for the 10km Track Race but showed amazing agility jumping twice over fallen skaters to continue his race.Prior to the Worlds, Sam experienced 4 weeks of training and competitions in the Netherlands. He placed 4th out of 30 in the Omsport Marathon, 21st out of 50 in the 35-minute Freewheel Championships and 24th of out 30 in the Heerenveen Competition. For his achievements, Sam has been awarded a Gold Achievement Award in Sport.
