2015 Swimming Sports

Thursday 19 February saw the annual Awatapu College Swimming sports held at the Lido pool.

As usual the Championship titles were fiercely fought for and there were some close battles among the age groups. Amy Smith Yr 10 broke the Open Girls 50m butterfly record that had stood since 1994 – a fantastic achievement Amy!

It was great to see so many people getting fully behind the house competition and dressing up in house colours – equally good was seeing the effort that have been put into the painting of house banners – they were outstanding this year. Full points to Mr Dobson who was resplendent in green – keeping true to his promise of wearing whatever green item his Ngata formclasses gave him –including eyeshadow, lipstick and a wig. He was rewarded with equally enthusiastic participation from the Ngata students.

Well done to everyone who took part – now bring on Athletics!
